Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Perlane®, Radiesse® and Evolence® are all common types of injectable dermal fillers available today. They are all highly biocompatible making them safe and simple treatments to revitalize your facial appearance by increasing volume in the face. It is very common to couple a Botox® treatment with any of these fillers.

Restylane® and Juvéderm® are clear injectable gels produced with stabilized, hyaluronic acid and water. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, however, over time its synthesis diminishes. By replenishing nature’s supply of hyaluronic acid, Restylane® or Juvéderm® revitalize and plump up the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and giving a softer look. Results with these fillers are expected to last 6 months or more.

Perlane® is another dermal filler that was approved by the FDA in May of 2007. It has large gel particles that can reach the deep layers of the skin, allowing for enhanced volume capabilities. Using their clinical and aesthetic judgment, the RoxSpa practitioners may choose Perlane® to soften more prominent wrinkles, more severe facial folds, to augment thin lips or to improve facial scarring, including acne scarring.

Radiesse® is an injectable facial filler composed of calcium hydroxylapatite. Like hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite is biocompatible, so it is safely used in the body. One potential advantage of Radiesse® is that its effect can last up to two to three years.

Evolence® is a dermal filler, made of natural collagen that can immediately improve ones appearance by smoothing out and softening unwanted wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds In contrast to older types of collagen which may have caused skin reaction, Evolence® does not require skin test and does not cause adverse reactions. Additionally, the protein in collagen is pro-coagulant. This means that it should cause less bruising and swelling than the other injectables. It has been FDA approved and if you are looking for the great results with a minimum downtime it should be your number one choice. No pretest is required and results may last about a year.
